How Do I Start?

Meditation isn’t about emptying your mind; it’s about training it to watch thoughts float by like leaves on a stream.

Start a guided meditation with apps such as Headspace, Calm, Insight Timer or just find a quite space and just take a few breaths in and out. Meditation is a skill that takes time and practice to develop so make it a habit.

My Mind Just Wont Stop?

This is probably the most frequent complaint! Our minds are naturally busy, and it takes practice to train them to focus. Don’t get discouraged – a wandering mind is a normal part of the process. The key is to gently bring your attention back to your breath or your mantra whenever you realize your mind has strayed.

  • Personally I have never been a breakfast person. I usually don’t have time in the morning to make a nutritious breakfast that will hit all my desired nutrient macros. I started building a regiment that allowed me to be as lazy as possible, this meant I could gather all the ingredients in the evening, but them in a blender and in the morning I blend and I am out the door with breakfast in hand.

    Quick Breakfast Criteria

    • 24g of Protein
    • 1-2 low sugar fruits for natural sweetness and plant polyphenols
    • 2-3 vegetables for essential vitamins, antioxidants and fiber
    • Mix in some flaxseeds for omega-3s to reduce inflammation
    • A dose of curcumin for anti-inflammatory properties
    • Mix in some Greek yogurt for protein and probiotics (optional)
    • Almond butter for good healthy fats and satiety (optional)
